Al Michaels Apologizes Like A Pro
Take your side whether it was inappropriate or topical, but hot damn, I never seen an apology so smooth. You got some flack from the NBC suits "Hey, Al, that ah, reference - not uhhhhh, so family friendly. We gotta get people to tune into The Voice, here. Can you maybe spruce something up in the next segment?"
Bam. Apology casually delivered and then we carry on. No press conference, no three-minute video on Twitter rambling through your thought processes and intentions, just "hey, I said this shit, people have to watch The Voice, I apologize, let's get back to some football."
A reason why Al Michaels is one of the greats. Grand scheme of things, guy shouldn't get flack for a newsworthy reference, but I get NBC's side. Just say it and let's get on with this business of living.
