Let's All Take This Moment To Appreciate Drew Brees
Are you hanging from the rafters in the Super Dome? Dropping some heat somewhere in the terrance section bathroom stall? "Near...far...wherever you are..." Drew Brees will get the football into your hands.
And I don't make note when a quarterback "puts the ball where no one else can get it" unless a Dan Fouts or Troy Aikman brings it up to me, but seeing Brees throw to his core of young receivers (except Ted Ginn Jr. that is), he does it comfortably on the reg. That one down the middle to Hill over his shoulder? Magnifico. That extremely highlight-worthy grab by Michael Thomas (it was in the highlights as a matter of fact)? Even the mobility he displayed - holy shit. The guy's amazing on several facets
Except for I not consistently watching the Saints games, I can't make excuses when saying that I thought Drew Brees was faltering away from the Brees we used to be familiar with, but hot damn, I think he still might be Madden cover worthy? By all standards he's a quality human being, is a great role model and rivals the commercial game with Peyton and A-Rodg.
Drew Brees still can go, folks. Vroom, vroom. And like Tom Brady, he wants to keep that Mardi Gras float rolling until his mid-40s, but without a set of kale pajamas and four inches to his height. Just like him and just like Rodgers, he's got just as big of a chip on his shoulder but at this point has likely channeled that Chargers venom into being a leader and stalwart to the Saints.
It's settled. Watch out Minnesota.
